An international development program that contributes to strengthening citizen engagement in socio-economic development at the regional level in Azerbaijan is seeking candidate for the position listed below:
Regional Director for the regional office in Guba-Khachmaz

Regional Director
Regional Director will be responsible for the successful implementation of the activities, monitoring and evaluation, as well as day-to-day management of the respective office in Guba-Khachmaz region. Regional Director will use his/her technical skills, education, experience, and country knowledge to accomplish the following tasks:
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Oversee and supervise day-to-day operations of the office and the project activities;
- Ensure that the project activities are effectively coordinated and implemented according to the work plans;
- Ensure cooperation with appropriate government authorities, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders at the local level;
- Take lead in ensuring participation of relevant key stakeholders in the activities (trainings, round tables) through relationship building and information dissemination;
- Monitor implementation of community socio-economic projects and provide a report with feedback and recommendations;
- Maintain project Quarterly Implementation Plan and Calendar of critical program milestones, deadlines and events in the respective region;
- Upon request, act as a liaison to ExCom and local government representatives, and CSOs;
- Travel to program sites as needed to inform the program management on necessary technical assistance and troubleshoot along with staff;
- Stay informed and respectively inform the program management about developments in socio-economic activities in the respective region;
Desired Qualifications
- Five years of experience in social work or development programs, preferably for international organizations;
- At least three years of experience in managing projects including planning, reporting, and supervising staff;
- Very good knowledge of the target region;
- Good understanding of programs that work on regional socio-economic development;
- Good understanding of civil society and community development initiatives in Azerbaijan;
- Strong management skills, a self-starter, and very well organized;
- Impeccable professional and personal integrity;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- University degree in political science, economics, social science, or other related fields;
- Fluency in written and oral Azerbaijani and English languages.
