 Job - Health Program Coordinator (Oxfam)

Healthy World Local NGO based in Barda is looking for recruiting a highly motivated individual for the position of Health Programme Co-ordinator for its Barda office "Promotion of Community Primary Health Care in Barda region" project. The project aims is to promote access to sustainable quality primary health care for IDPs and local people at 30 settlements through establishment of Community Managed Primary Health Care scheme and Revolving Drug Funds

Key Activities:

  • Identify skilled and experienced people in village communities, in order to use their skills and expertise in the implementation of health related activities
  • Coordinate preventive health training sessions in selected village settlements
  • Disseminate information in selected village communities on the need for first aid support and the concept of revolving first aid drug funds through pamphlets and group discussions
  • Identify health staff to provide first aid support, upgrade their first aid support skills
  • Support and assist these communities in developing appropriate systems for the use, charge and management of first aid kits
  • Promote the establishment of community based health insurance schemes in selected village communities, and provide support to develop appropriate guidelines on the use and management of the scheme
  • Liase with the local Department of Health and Ministry of Health on the concept and implementation of the above health related interventions as necessary, and keep abreast of current health reforms and their impact on IDP communities
  • Monitor and document the impact of the above activities on the health status of the target communities
  • Provide written monthly and other relevant reports to meet donor requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Education to degree level with preferable background in health
  • At least two years experience of community work
  • Awareness of health reforms and primary and preventive health care
  • Ability to work with rural communities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Azeri
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to travel extensively and work under pressure
