CHF International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environment
Specialist for a proposed, USAID-funded project in Azerbaijan entitled Socio
Economic Development Activity (SEDA). SEDA will seek to increase citizen participation
in governance to address regional socio-economic development needs, by establishing
participatory mechanisms through which key stakeholders can identify and prioritize
their social and economic needs at the regional and community levels. The Environment
Specialist will provide guidance on the environmental impact of infrastructure
programs, promote environmental sustainability, and ensure strict adherence
to donor and governmental regulations regarding environmental compliance.
Qualifications:
" Bachelors degree in relevant discipline
" 3+ years of professional experience in environmental project management,
or environmental audit/inspection of development projects, with a particular
focus on: land degradation, waste management, air and water pollution, and sustainable
technologies
" Experience in evaluation and mitigation of potential environmental impacts
in infrastructure projects
" Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to environmental compliance
in Azerbaijan
" Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations pertaining to environmental
compliance preferred
" Fluency in English required
