"SOS Children's Villages - Azerbaijan" Association was founded in 1999 according to agreement signed between "SOS Kinderdorf" NGO and Azerbaijan government. The main purpose of the organization is providing family based care to the children deprived from parental care as well as implementation of different activities aimed to provide children social welfare. Currently a number of social and educational projects successfully have being implemented within Baku and Ganja SOS Children's Villages and Family Support Program.

Public Funding advisor

Identifies opportunities for accessing public funds in the country and abroad on topics close to the program activities of SOS Children's Villages -Azerbaijan
Assesses the possibilities for applications to specific public funds in accordance with existing resources, deadlines, the complexity of the project and the possibility of implementing the program in collaboration with teams of the association.
Builds the capacity of the organization in the field of project cycle management.
Respects all valid standards, guidelines and policies of SOS-Childrens Villages International and the SOS Children's Villages -Azerbaijan
Promotes the organization's brand, its vision, mission, goals

Main tasks and responsibilities

Is screening relevant grants for applicability in the NA Is recommending the application of a particular public fund in cooperation and consent of the National Director/ the National Management Team. Is directly involved in all stages of public funding project management (preparation, monitoring and evaluation) including the application process. Is following up current grant-implementations in terms of monitoring and evaluation Is setting up a national PF-database Is working closely with the National Director, NPPD and program managers in the preparation and monitoring of the projects. Is fostering, ensuring capacity building measures (be finding national service-providers or holding trainings) for national key-co-workers in the field of Project-Cycle-management and Public Funding in general Is building up and nurturing a network with co-workers, organizations and institutions towards establishing long term partnerships for public funding projects. Is participating with the consent of the National Director in all important events and activities in the country that are of great importance for creating networks in the public funding sphere. Is applying all mandatory tools and guidelines of the Continental Office in the field of Public Funding Is a member of the continental PF-network and thus supporting colleagues and peers on the continent

Must Criteria

• University degree in the field of international development, business administration, communications, certain disciplines of social sciences. Masters Degree in a relevant field will be considered as asset.
• At least 3-5 years verified experience and results in the field of public funding, especially within the international NGOs and other nonprofit organizations.
• Specific experience and knowledge of grant requirements (USAID, EU, UN ...) and training experience

• High level of knowledge of the principles of project management.
• Proven skills in research, writing and interpersonal relations
• Proven record of success in applying for grants from various donors
• Ability to work under pressure, good team player, innovative and creative who demonstrate high professional standards
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Desire to travel
• Driving license

• Good at relationship-building with different levels of the organisation.
• Able to work with or within a virtual team.
• Conveys written information in a well organised, accurate and concise manner that can be easily understood by others (e.g. target group).

Experience with negotiations and management of partners and service providers
